*About the fuel surcharge:
“We continuously monitor the regional and national average price of diesel
fuel. Many of the companies in our network signed up with us when diesel rates
were much lower. When the price started climbing rapidly after hurricane
Katrina, we knew our service partners required help.
None of our competitors would approve a fuel surcharge.
We sent an announcement to our service provider network telling them that
we would honor a fuel
surcharge entered on their invoice. When fuel prices
dropped to pre-Katrina levels, we discontinued the surcharge.
It let our network know that we understand the issues that affect their
costs and that we are willing to
do what is right to help our services partners
when we can. It wasn’t huge, but many of our partners appreciated it.
