About Us > Corporate History

A national company founded on Midwestern values.

We attribute our long success to the world-class service and technologies we provide. Our offerings are ever-expanding as the marketplace shifts and dramatic new technologies appear on the scene.

How it began.

Quest Software, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Ron Zyzelewski and Terry Miller. They co-own and manage the company, which is based in St. Johns, Michigan.  Established to develop and market software management tools for small business, Quest rapidly became a major provider of point-of-sale software to the glass retail industry.

Although Quest business interests have since diversified, Quest continues to market to the glass industry and supports 1800 glass retailers nationally with:

  • Business point-of-sale software and accounting solutions
  • Electronic ordering links to suppliers
  • Electronic invoicing (our EDI services handle over ¾ million glass invoices annually)

In the early ‘90s, Quest was contracted by one of the nation’s largest automotive insurers to create a glass invoice audit solution that allowed the carrier to automate the processing and payment of glass claims.  Quest audit solutions, mainframe and PC based, were subsequently adapted by a number of other national and regional insurance companies.  Additionally, several large glass networks contracted with Quest to create glass auditing and program management tools for their insurance clients.

Auto insurers looking for an independent glass TPA are drawn to us because of our:

  • Higher program compliance
  • Reduced glass severity
  • Knowledge of the glass industry
  • More detailed analysis and reporting
  • Lack of involvement with glass manufacturing, distribution and installation pursuits

As Quest’s insurance client base expanded, other outsourced claims applications were identified and added.  We began providing after-hour and overflow loss report (FNOL) services for Automotive, Property and General Liability claims; Quest Towing Services (QTS) was formed to  provide comprehensive towing packages for roadside assistance, primary and secondary towing.

Our Glass, FNOL and Towing programs flourish today and Quest continues to provide software systems and services that facilitate claims handling.

Now our glass TPA and Towing solutions operate on web-based applications that provide our clients with greater program flexibility and control.  In fact, many clients realize additional savings by offloading administrative expense on vendors and agents.

Our programs are deployed on the AT&T Web Services Network to ensure scalability and redundancy.

Quest continues to develop web-based software applications that facilitate claims handling and payment operations.

  • Our EFT payment information system (developed for a large insurance company) provides the ability to pay vendors by EFT.
  • A secure website provides the payee access to obtain the payment remittance advice in order to see what invoices have been paid via EFT.
  • Another application enables the carrier to receive home repair invoices through the Internet.
  •  Contractors access the web-site to invoice the carrier for materials, price and labor on authorized home repairs.

Quest’s ever-evolving software and services are in productive use throughout the United State and Canada.
